How to be known as an expert #1

As of Today(July 11th), I will be writing a series of posts dedicated to: "How to be known as an expert." This will be post #1 and basically what I'm going to be discussing is different ways that you can gain credibility in your community or niche and become considered to be an expert. Being known as an expert is extremely helpful when you are advertising your blog. You can truthfully say,"Listen to the words of an expert by visiting my site." This applies to any topic that you write about.

Today's way to be known as an expert is this: Research. This seems so simple, but seriously, if you don't know what you're talking about, even if you have great persuasive skills, nobody's going to actaully believe that you are an expert. So, do your homework. Truthfully, this should be lots of fun. Since you already know that you should be writing or dealing with something you love and are passionate aabout, you should love spending hours and hours on other people's websites learning from them and their readers. If you aren't jumping up and down with excitement about learning something you love, then you don't love it enough, you shouldn't write about, and if you do, you're not going to be successfull because you're going to produce CRAP content.

I, unintentionally, spent hours upon hours, and days upon days, and weeks upon weeks reading other people's websites and blogs. What I found was that I actually learned twice as much from the people commenting on the blog or website than I did from the actual content.

Once you have read a couple of blogs and websites and read lots of comments, you should have a pretty good idea about who the experts are in your field. If the field is blogging(as it is for me and this site), I quickly found out that some of the experts were found at http://www.problogger.net/, http://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/ and http://www.johnchow.com/. If they truly are the experts in the field that you are researching, then they will probably come out with new content every single day. So I recommend that you read their daily posts and observe their writing style. Ask yourself questions: What makes them experts? Why do people enjoy returning to this site? Then immitate whatever they do.

"How do you get a steady income from your blog?" This is a question that is commonly asked by "intermediate" bloggers. The reason for this is that "newer" bloggers are usually looking to make quick cash right away. This post will be about why this mindset of "quick cash now" is not the right mindset if you are looking to run a successfull online business.

The main reason that you need to stay away from "quick cash now" programs is because truly, most of them are SCAMS. Even if you do get the money from these programs, they usually take too much time and you could be making lots more money in the long run. Most of the time, these "schemes" go something like this:

"Sign up for this free program and after 3 days get $100 bonus."

Seems pretty good right? WRONG. The truth is, they have tons of little one month membership fees that they charge you just by you giving them your cellphone number. What's interesting is that you would be making more money with the following situation:

"Somebody wants to buy advertising space on your blog. It's a six month deal for $10 a month. Most people would say,"well I would be making more money with the quick deal. $100 compared to $90." Actaully, you're not. The hidden fees subtract about $30 on average. On top of that, the six month deal means that you have the chance to develop a friendly relationship with your advertiser. As a result, he may renew for another six month deal. If he sees that advertising on your site is getting him/her a lot of publicity, they migth be willing to pay a little bit more the next time around for more optimally colored or positioned advertisments
And that is how to get a steady income from your blog(develop friendly relationships with advertisers).

Today I thought I would write a post dedicated to legendary(already, and I think he's only 32) Gary Vaynerchuk. For those of you who don't know who he is, Gary is the host and creator of Wine Library T.V. Sounds insignificant right? ....WRONG. Gary is an extremely successfull businessman who knows the true power of internet marketing and how to use social media as a tool for your blog. So, this post will be about how to market your blog.

Marketing your blog, in simple terms, is business. It goes the same for all businesses outside the wide world of the world wide web(try saying that 5 times fast). Marketing is just knowing how to get your name out there where people can see it. Marketing your blog, therefore, is getting people to visit your site. Some common ways to do this include:
1. Submitting your site to search engines like google, yahoo, msn, or ask.com
2. Adding your blog to web directories.
3. Creating social media accounts and communicating with people in their niche.

Now, what's funny is that I actually ranked these three things in order of popularity. Strange isn't it? The least popular way to market your blog is by interacting with others who actually care about you(unlike google who is just in it for the business, and i don't blame them). In fact, communicating with the people that actually give a crap about what you're talking about is the #1 most important way to market your blog or your business. This was true in Gray Vaynerchuk's eyes and it holds true in my eyes as well.

Many people take for granted the fact that even 2 people in the entire world(outside of your family and friends, of course) care about you should make you the happiest person on earth. Now you might ask, well how do I get other people to like what I have to say as well? Here's how: You market. Communicate with those seemingly insignificant people through Twitter. Then, through the power of social networking, the 10 friends that those two people have will see what you have to say. Now, you have about 20 people that follow you. Those twenty each have twenty more friends. That already makes your popularity grow from 2 fans, to 400 fans.

Now, to effectively market your blog, you can't restrict yourself only to Twitter. You have to become a part of your community on facebook, myspace, linkedin, public forums realted to your niche, anything!! Hundreds of people have this mind set: Signing up is only going to get me like 10 extra site readers so it's not worth it. Well let me tell you something, those "only" 10 people have 30 or more friends each. So, my question is, why would you for a second think, that ten people caring about you, is insignificant?

Knowing all this informatio is absolutely imperative if you want to create a brand for yourself. In the words of Gary Vaynerchuk, "Legacy is greater than currency." So don't go straight for the money, go for the brand(the name for yourself within the community). This is how to successfully market your blog.

What Color Combinations are Best for my Advertisements?

Along, with questions about ad placement(which we went over in yesterday's post), color schemes of ad questions are probably the most common questions I get.

For every blog or website, there is a specific topic about what you write about. Each topic, as a result, pertains to a specific group of people who are interested in this topic. When choosing a website or blog template, many people choose color schemes that they believe would attract people from the group that they are trying to communicate with. So, if you had a website about flowers, then most likely you would pick a template or web design with flowers, light colors, and soft patterns.

Now, I'm sure you are wondering, well how does this relate to the color of my ads? Well, here it is. The color of your ads is extremely important. It can make the difference between someone clicking on the ads and someone not even considering to read them. Many inexperienced website and blog owners use colors that stand out from the rest of the site on their ads because they simply believe that it will catch the reader's eye. This is true, but, man yo f the colors they choose are difficult to look at for more than a few seconds. Also, people know that most of the time, people who use bright colors and clashing designs are scam artists for "make money quick" schemes. So, basically, you want your ads to blend in relativcely well with the rest of your blog or website. There should absolutely be no visible border for the ads. If your background is white, make the border for the ad boxes white as well.

The background color of the ad box should be the same as the background for the rest of the blog or website. The text color should be the same and the title color may be different if you wish. However, I recommend that this difference be subtle. As for the URL, do the same thing that you did with the border. Make it the same color as the background of the ad box so it doesn't look so much like an....well, an ad.

Where should you put your advertisements on your site?

Hundreds upon hundreds of new bloggers and website owneres apply for Google Adsense every week. When they get accepted they immediately think that they are going to make money right away. Just as I learned when I first started blogging, this is not true.

Sure, you can make a lot of money by using Adsense, however, there are many different factors that affect how much you can make from this easy third-party advertising system.

One of these major factors is: Placement of adsense ads.
I will now explain several key points and suggestions for ad placement(this applies for any type of ad, not just Google Adsense ads).

1.)When people are browsing websites via search engine, they might accidentally land on your page. If they read it and don't find it interesting, you at least want to make a little money from their visit, so you should place an adsense unit just above your first post and below the header of your blog or website. Many times, people prefer using the "large rectangle" ad becasue it contains several targeted, and usually high-paying ads.

2. Sidebars. If you have only a right sidebar, you might not profit as much as you could be. It has been found that ads placed to the left of posts and articles perform better. I suspect that this is because every time someone finishes reading a line, their eyes move back to the left and see your ad.

3. This is the most successfull adsense placement option!! INSIDE YOUR BLOG/WEBSITE POSTS!! The reason that most people don't do this is simply because they can't. Free web hosting and blog hosting services like blogger.com don't offer an option for placing ads in content. If youdo have this option, it is best to use a medium rectangle or square unit and wrap your text around it.

How to create several pages for your blogger blog

I have seen many people give up on their "blogger.com" blogs becasue they feel that they can not expand their business and/or continue to grow their profits and income. Many times, this feeling is sparke becasue blogger.com restricts you to only one main page.

FALSE!! First of all, you should never give up on your blog no matter what and second of all, sure you can make several pages. How do you think I did it on this site? I learned this trick from the man behind http://www.asktheadmin.com/, whom I give full credit to. What you need to do is as follows:

1.) Think of what you want the seperate page to be about. I have done seperate pages for advertising information, special posts, and contact information.

2.) Now, write and edit the post to your liking. If it is a contact page, please don't write it as if it were a daily article that you would write. You could write a list of when your available, you e-mail, address, and telephone number maybe. It doesn't have to be long, it just has to be worth something.

3.) At the bottom of the post(to the left of the "labels for this post"), you will see a blue link called "Post Options." Click on this link. You will now see an option for the time and date of the post appear below the "labels for this post" that I just mentioned.

4.) Change the year in the date to something like 2001 or 2002. This means that the post will not be shown on your homepage and is way in the back of your blog's archive.

5.) Now, go to the archive and find you post(it should be labeled according to what you would like the seperate/new page to be called). Copy the exact URL address from that article.

6.) Now, create a text box widget above your posts. Type the name of your new page.

7.) Highlight the title, then click on the strange green, round, circle next to the "text colors."

8.) Paste the URL that you just copied into the blank space and hit: OK.

9.) You're done. Save your changes and check out your blog. It now has a seperate page. You can do this for as many pages as you want.

When I first started blogging a while back, I thought, "I am going to successfully make money online, truly without spending a dime." Now, good thing that time really isn't literally money, because I have spent a lot of time blogging since I started. I was encouraged because there were plenty of websites that advertised that they could teach you how to become wealthy without spending a dime.

However, over time, I saw many of these websites and companies eventually start paying for web-hosting and logo design. I know that technically they were already successfull before they paid any money, but, I am trying to prove that you really don't HAVE to pay anything to be as successfull as them. I mean, look at this blog, I created it at blogger.com for free. All of my advertising is free, plus, I have, in the past, made deals with many sponsors and advertisers to get a steady income.

So, I have already started this project, but, I have decided to give weekly updates about what's going on with my "money online, without spending a dime" campaign.

From now on, these weekly posts will be placed under the tab "weekly updates" at the top of the page.

I will continue to write my daily lesson-teaching articles.

Subdomains-The advantages and disadvantages

Today, I thought that I would just write a short post on the advantages and disadvantages of owning a subdomain.

For many beginner website and blog owners, it is common to own subdomains. A subdomain is a website or blog that is a part of a larger domain. Subdomains are usually free to use and are very popular for "experimental" blogs or websites.

An example of a subdomain would be: www.dogs.wordpress.com

Notice that the larger "domain"'s name is in the web address. Larger domains benefit hugely from giving free subdomains because every time someone types in the address, their name is right there. So, basically, it's free advertising.

On the other hand, a domain is a private or corporate-owned web address that can be purchased from other web hosting companies for reasonable prices.

An example of a domain would be: www.dogs.com

Now let's talk a little bit about the advantages of both. First of all, subdomains are free. This makes them extremely popular because they require no monetary investments whatsoever and even beginners can earn some pocket cash with them. They are usually permanent subscriptions. This means that you can keep it for free for as long as you want(this has proved to be the reason that so many sub-domain owners have changed to domains, because they have had a decent amount of success at no cost to them). One final advantage is that the domain you are a part of usually provides all the tools and hints to make you successfull. This is because they benefit more if you are successfull.

The disadvantages of owning a subdomain are as follows:

1. They are small. Many free subdomains can't have more than one page. This is a huge downsied for people looking to grow their profits. Seperate pages are recommended for things like advertising pages and contact pages. (one way to become successfull with a sub-domain like the site you're on now, is by direct advertising. Please see my article "Why third party advertising is not your best choice").

2. They restrict your growth. Sometimes you're lucky and the company that you have a subdomain with, will provide you with the option of upgrading to your own domain name for a small monthly fee. However, more often than not, your stuck with that ".wordpress" following your website's name or the ".blogspot".

3. Many times, advertising deals will go down the drain if they see that you own a subdomain. This is usually because subdomains, in general, reach a smaller audience. However, you can still be successfull with direct advertising on your subdomain. I have been successfull with direct advertising on this site in the past because of our large group of readers.

*The best way to get advertising to work for your subdomain is by first gaining accesss to a large audience like we have done on this blog.

Keep doing business, running websites, blogging, and working hard, believe me...it'll pay off in the end.

Adding Donation buttons

It has long been thought that any person could survive solely off of blog donations. I hate to break it to you, but this is only true for about 1 out of every 10,000 blogs. So far, I have only heard of one that has done this successfully and I am sure that you've heard his name on other sites as well. That man is Jason Kottke. He runs kottke.org. Now, it is ture that donations have always been popular ways to make money online. A couple years ago, it was actually a lot more common because none of these third-party advertising companies were out there stealing your money and wasting your time.

It is also true that asking for donations has become a lot easier lately thanks to programs such as PayPal. PayPal enables you to place a donation button to your site. This has made many blogs a decent amount of profit. ONce a month, they just simply ask for small monetary donations that would be used to help support and keep the blog alive.

Now, it's a lot harder for people like me that don't have PayPal, because then donations would have to be made via check which takes quite a long period of time. Overall, if you have PayPal, I would definitely recommend that you add a little "donate" button. You don't really have to do anything to get some pocket money except give your readers some quality and fresh content(which you should be doing consantly already). There aren't many reasons I could think of not to add a button, but please realize that most donations will be under ABOUT 5 DOLLARS.

Why third party advertising is not your best choice

Third Party advertising is the #1 most popular monetization method for blogs and websites worldwide. Commonly used third party advertising programs involve:
1. Google Adsense
2. Kontera
3. Text Link Ads
4. Yahoo advertising

Well, these are all great monetization methids aren't they. Well, yes....for beginners. With so many sites out there telling people how great Google Adsense is, it's becoming very hard for new bloggers or website owners to avoid it. Let me get straight to the point. Why would you let a company like Google or Yahoo take a portion of the money that should be rightfully yours? Most people like these companies because of only one reason: "They do the work for you." Here we go again with the same old mentality of trying to get everything done the easy way. For the last time(not really), making good money online is not just a walk in the park. You have to work for it even if all the advertisements out there that say otherwise.
It would be pretty reasonable if they took maybe 25% of your profits. But, they aren't. They're taking on 50% of your money. That's like someone offering you 50 dollars if you walk ten feet forward, and you say: "I'll just take 25 dollars if you give it to me now."

It's not that hard to find advertisers for yourself.
There are so many more advantages to direct advertising than third-party advertising that if I wrote about it now, this post could go on forever. So, for that reason, I am devoting the next post to some reasons why direct advertising is the best choice and what direct advertising really is.

Selling E-Books

Many bloggers and website authors in the past have relied upon E-Books to bring in a high rate of income. Today, we're going to talk about the benefits and disadvantages of writing an e-book. First, an e-book is just a book that can be downloaded easily off of the internet. E-books are commonly written as compilations of helpful hints and tips from a website or, more commonly, a blog.

Disadvantages:

1. Writing a successfull e-book may take a very long time. If you really want to make a substantail profit you need to spend hours and hours making it just right and making sure that it is the proper length.

2. You can't sell the darn thing if your blog or website doesn't even get any traffic. This is because of the fact that your blog or website should be the main showcase and advertising place for your e-book.

Advantages:

1. You really can make a huge profit from e-books. Don't get me wrong it's hard and time consuming work. REALITY CHECK: Making Money Is Not That Easy. However, if you take your time on the writing and advertise it correctly, you could generate a long-term profit.

2. There is no cost to making more copies or mass-producing them. Since it is online, it means that inventory is infinite and will never run out. This means that you can continue to get checks even after your too old to remember you wrote a book on the first place.

3. If you have a well-organized blog or website with good information on it. The e-book could be easily made by simply copying and pasting some of your most intelligent ideas.

Hey, guys. This post is going to be all about being an online consultant.

Alright, once you have been blogging for a couple years, maybe actually only a couple of months, and you have done hours of research about online marketing strategies and running a business, you should advertise yourself. Basically what this means is that you should post articles around the web and on job websites and employment forums about affordable consulting oppurtunityies. Once you have the proof that you have become a knowledgeable expert in your field, people will want to learn from you. Plus, if it's something that you enjoy dealing with, then you are basically getting paid to do what you love.

All that this job really is:

1. Offering paid advice about whatever you like.

2. Successfully advertising yourself so that you get a wide variety of customers.

3. Once you get a wide variety of customers, it is completely up to you to pick the ones that offer the most money or other compensation. Advertising is key in this position as it is in any position where you try to sell a product or a service.

4. When advertising, make sure to include proof of your success and/or advice written by yourslef in the past.

So, basically that's it, you can post advertisements for your services on many places such as myspace,facebook,e-zine articles,about.com,wikipedia, and craigslist. You can also put ads about your services on job searching web sites like monster.com and jobs.com.
This really is pretty easy so you should try it out. The most commonly asked question about this subject that I get asked is: How much should we charge?
THe answer is start out at about $10. If someone accepts this offer right away, then you know that next time you can charge more. Experimentation= optimal success rate.

Being Consistent

What a lot of people think is that once you start a blog, the money will start just flowing in consistently. When I started my first blog, truthfully, I thought that same exact thing. It turned out to be a lot harder than I thought that it would be, however. I thought that I might just right 5-6 articles and people would continue to be interested in them and keep visiting back. It sounds stupid now, but you would be amazed at how easy it really is to think like that. What really helped me get my start and get my first blog "out there" was writing one fairly simple post every single day for a month. After that, I had tons of content and was showing up on search engines and starting to get some money. Nobody wants to write an article every day for the rest of their life, so only do it for the first month.

Now, some people that have heard my advice go and write for a month and then think that they are done forever. I hat to break it to ya', but, people are gonna' get bored of your articles eventually. So, the best thing to do is, after the first month, just write one article every week. This is the perfect interval because it gives each one of your new articles a little time under the spotlight and your readers have new, exciting content every time they revisit your blog. Once people realize that they actually have fun coming back to your blog, then they will suscribe to your RSS Feed or become a dedicated "follower".

The lesson is to keep up the writing and to "be consistent". As long as you do these things, you might finally realize that you can have lots of fun while making some serious money. People that say that it's impossible to be really successfull with a blog are always the ones that just aren't willing to put the work into it. One thing is good about blogs and websites, though. Once the first load of work is done, you really can just sit back and watch the money roll in.

As with any business anywhere in the world, networking is undoubtedly one of the most important thing you can do to succeed. Basically, networking is just making relationships with people that can help you in the future with your business. Major businessman often times get their start from a job that a friend thought might fit them well. You might be thinking, well how does this apply to my current situation with websites and blogging? Well the answer is that any time you are making money you are dealing with business. This blog, in a way, is a business because I am trying to make money with adsense ads. Every time someone clicks on my adds I geta certain amount of money with no cost to them. So, of course, I try to determine the best placement of my ads and the best colors to increase my chances that someone visiting the site will click on them.

Anyway, basically you want as many links to your site or blog as possible. If you have a lot, that means that people don't have to type in your long web adress to get to your blog or website, they might be on another site and click on a link.

One really simple ways to get more money is exchanging links with website or blog owners in the same field as you. If you are writing a website about football, visit other sports and football blogs and e-mail the owner asking for a link exchange. They'll know what you're talking about. Basically, you'll put a link to their website on your own website, and they'll do the same for you. Also, you can just visit a bunch of website like yours and leave a comment with a link to your site at the bottom. If you seem interested in helping them out, many times they will feel obliged to help you out some to me in the future too. What's good about leaving comments is that not only will the website or blog owner see it, everybody else who leaves a comment is likely to see it and read it too. Just comment and post links on as many blogs and websites as you can and you will see your traffic go up, and along with traffic comes revenue. These methods of networking will help you out both short term and long term and will continue benefitting you for as long as your website or blog is in service.

Blog or Website?

I thought I would do this post because I didn't know the answer when I started making money online. I started by making a free "sub-domain" website at weebly.com. I submitted it to Google, Yahoo, Msn, Ask,etc. After getting sixty pageviews for two days in a row, my daily pageviews dropped to about ten. So I researched how to make a blog and I came across blogger.com.

As a matter of fact, this post is written using blogger.

Anyway, as for the question of whether a blog or a website is better, there is no correct answer. Many people say that having your own domain name and website is better because it gives you more freedom. This may actually be true because you can even put a blog on your website. The only good thing about a blog is that it is more interactive and a lot easier to update and have control of.

I have had more success with my blog than any of my websites put together.

Here is my actual report from adsense after my first day of starting my blog:

I know this doesn't seem like alot, but $11 on your first day was pretty good considering I was almost a complete beginner.

So, basically, if you're just beginning your online entrepreneur experience, I would start with a blog. You can sign up for free at blogger.com. Blogger is great because it is actually run by google, so, it's easy to get approved for adsense.

Online Money SCAMS!!

Welcome back. Today, i'd like to dedicate this post to the information I have regarding online money-making opportunities and more importantly, the scams. I'm sure that all of you have been told by your parents when you were a kid, or warned by someone that you know, that you can't trust anything on the internet. Most of the time, they're right!

About 85% of the offers that you see on the internet are fraud or they just slam you with fees even though they advertise their products as being free. I follow a general rule for online advertising and programs. This rule is that if the program is run by a large company such as Google or Yahoo, it is generally a bit safer. However, I still always search on the internet for reviews and forums about people who have dealt with the program in the past. There will generally be at least two out of ten people that say it works. Most of the time, however, they are just saying that so they can refer you and get some money from the whole situation. So, I generally recommend that you find at least nine out of ten people that say it works before you sign up.

How do you know which program is right for you?

That is one of the most commonly asked questions on the internet(behind,"how much will I make"). The answer is on the internet itself of course. Most of these programs that you would sign up for to make some money from have forums and/or discussion groups talking about how the site or program works and who can qualify. If you qualify and you like what you hear about it, search more until you absolutely love what you hear about it. Only then should you even consider signing up.

All About Adsense

I know that most of you have probably heard of the program called Google Adsense. I actually have mentioned it in several of my other posts on this blog. But, for those of you who don't know, Adsense is a program that lets Google place advertisers' ads on your blog or website as a system of earnong revenue for you and themselves.

Advertisers pay Google to place their product or service ads on your website hoping that somebody might buy their product as a result. But, we're here to talk about how YOU can generate some revenue from Google.

If you start a blog at www.blogger.com(like this one)or make a website at www.weebly.com, then you have the opportunity to make some money. Both of these sites give you starter templates to format your wbsite or blog and many times you can add "gadgets." One of Blogger's gadgets is adsense. Once you have an adsense account, you can use adsense for making money on any one of your websites or blogs.

O.K., so Google is extremely smart. They will place ads on your blog or website that are relevant to the keywords of your content. Once you have been approved for adsense use, then you can check how your blogs and sites are doing by clicking the link above and logging in. Google has also added other ways to make you money. As well as placing ads next to the main content of your blog or website, google now allows you to make money in the same way by placing a search engine on your website. This is referred to as "Adsense for Search." For every person that searches the web for something using your search engine, you get a bit of money. Depending on how competitive your list of keywords is, you could make between only ten cents per click, or ten dollars per click. If you organize your website or blog efficiently and correctly, you should expect between 25 cents and 75 cents.

Hint: Read the terms of use for google adsense before you sign-up. You've probably become blind to this advice in the past because everybody says it, but they're right. Google actually has really good advice on how to make more money with Adsense. Also, you could unknowingly break the rules and get your account terminated.

One last thing, if you are bored or desperate for adsense profit, please do not under any circumstances click on your own ads. This may get your account terminated. If it is not terminateed, google will still find out and they just won't pay you any money for those clicks. So, either way you are just wasting your time.

Today's topic is about making a blog. There are so many ways to make money online, but among the top is making a blog. The reason so many blogs are out there on the internet is because so many people get to make them for free.....Thanks again to Google. They have provided a great service called Blogger. As a matter of fact, if you are reading this, you are on a blog made by blogger.

Google provides Blogger.com because they may be able to make some money off of it. And who can blame them, we all need osme money in the pocket nowadays.Anyway, Blogger is a service provided by Google that lets everyday people like you and me get their ideas and thoughts across to the public. Many people are now wondering,"well how does this help Google at all?" Here it is: Google has another service called Google Adsense. In this service, website and blog owners allow Google to post ads on their website. The ads are always related to the topic of the content in the website or blog. Advertisers pay google money to place these ads on your Blog. For every person that visits your blog and clicks on these ads(they can be displayed pretty much wherever you want on the blog), you get a certain amount of money put into your adsense account.

Blogger makes it very simple to make a blog and start earning money. I have seen so many people say that they can't make any money on blogger and then they just quit. I made $11.01 on my first day with blogger.

Finally, what I've been trying to say is that I believe that making money on a blog can be done in a shorter period of time than on a website, though overall, it is up to you.

Hey everybody! Thanks for coming back for more information on how to make money online. This post will be based on the survey-taking site called SurveySpot. SurveySpot is a great online website that pays you to take surveys for companies that they are doing business with.

Ok, I am going to give it to you straight. There are ups and downs for signing up with SurveySpot. The ups are that there are lots of surveys always available for you to take and you can choose whichever ones that you would like.

The downs are that many of the surveys are no paid surveys. This means that you might be wasting up to 45 minutes of your day without getting rewarded at all. SurveySpot lets you enter a contest for 25,000 Dollars after every survey that you complete. However, the chances are truthfully so small that it's not even worth participating.

I was introduced to SurveySpot by a friend. He actually did have success and made over $200 in one weekend. Though I was interested in the site at first,due to my friend's success, I lost interest very quickly when I took about $5 worth of surveys and never got the money transferred to my account.

If you read the "Terms of Service", you will find out that it may take up to eight weeks for your money to register into your account. On top of that, when you request payout($5), it may take another six weeks for the check to actually reach your house.

This brings me to my next point: checks!!

No matter what other people may say about payment through checks, they are the absolute best way to get your payment through internet sites. Paypal can be somewhat unreliable at times.

So, besides the abundance of surveys and the payment through checks, I can't think of anything really great about SurveySpot.
